What's the benefit to me as an independent of joining HiveMind?
Being part of the HiveMind network allows you to extend the breadth and depth of service you can provide to your own clients which in turn helps you grow additional revenues for your business. As part of the Hive we can collectively tackle and win bids that historically have not being accessible to us as individuals.
What type of delivery experts do you have in the community?
Across the community we have the range of skills required to support our client members from strategy through to operation. This includes management consultants, programme and project managers, agile and kanban specialists, software development and delivery experts, enterprise architects, organisational design specialists, operation and ERP experts and data analysts, business information specialists, cyber-security experts, business analysts, design thinking experts, and customer experience specialists. Our consultants have come from firms such as Ernst & Young, Deloitte, PWC, Accenture, CSC, Atos, KPMG, to name a few.
Who is contractually responsible for work I do with HiveMind?
If the work is undertaken by a you through a HiveMind master services agreement, HiveMind Network Ltd carries contractual responsibility. We have no liability for any member firm operating directly with their client and when no Master Service Agreement is in place with HiveMind Network Ltd. The member firm has contractual responsibility to their client.
What sectors does the Hive community work in?
Financial services, retail, hospitality, utilities, distribution and logistics, manufacturing, mining, healthcare, and local government.
How can I be assured that my information remains confidential?
We're currently implementing with our Information Management Experts a comprehensive data control and governance process designed to ensure that we treat your information with the care and attention you'd expect. It's also important to note, that as part of our Terms of Service, delivery experts are bound to not disclose confidential information.
You seem to be like a hybrid consulting and resourcing company is that right?
We are a professional services network (PSN) much the same as the bigger consulting firms would call themselves. The service which is closest to that of the traditional recruitment model is our HiveFlex service. Unlike an agency model though, we take responsibility for the quality of the work undertaken by the member - simple as that. In addition HiveFlex means being able to engage an expert for an hour through to a year in units of time that suits you. We are also very clear that we promote and sell the services of our experts rather than simply "selling bodies". Our other core service HiveExec and HiveOutcome are both consulting/delivery style services.
...and finally our guilds seeks to develop and share best practice open standards which provides continuity and integrity of service beyond that of the "lone contractor".
How do ensure quality of your network members as the network grows?
There are a three ways we address this;
Your platform still seems pretty basic - why's this?
We've bootstrapped everything we've done so far. As the membership grows and our revenues with it we're investing in building out a more comprehensive platform. This will be done in conjunction with our enterprise and expert members deep involvement.
What would you see as your key focus in terms of your claim on "making business better"
Our "DNA" if you like, is focused around organisational agility. Helping companies to become more responsive and able to adapt to market changes. Some of our most complex and successful engagements to date have been in this space. To achieve this sort of change typically involves our delivery experts helping to modernise and optimise governance, organisational models, IT development and delivery and customer experiences.
You say more affordable and effective - how do your costs compare to other providers then?
From a consulting perspective we're about a half of the cost of the equivalent expertise from a Big 4 firm, bearing in mind that in the management consulting space many of our expert practitioners have Big 4 backgrounds. In the delivery area our experts are about two thirds of the cost of their equivalent from a systems integrator or software company.
How many members to you have?
circa 500, growing at around eight to ten a week
How quickly do you pay your Expert Practitioners
Assuming that the client is satisfied with the work delivered we pay our EP's when we get paid. If the work is undertaken using "networking units" (a pre-payment model we use) then the EP is paid as soon as client indicates they're happy with the work.
If I call upon other members to support me in my work do I earn a portion of their revenue?
Yes. Depending on the client contract and the engagement risk the referring EP's make between 2% and 9%
I've heard that it's possible to earn equity in the HiveMind model, is this true?
Yes. This is an extremely important part of the model and one which we are currently building with our legal/accounting specialists. We believe that is important for those members that achieve top HiveRank to have a stake in the overall success of the the network. We will be launching this model in Q4 of this year after consultation with the core membership.
Is their an internal rate if members choose to use other members on their own client work?
Yes there is. Full details are available as a member of the Expert Practitioner community
